If there is already a shortcut on your desktop, go to Step 4


1    1.       Click on the 4 Windows pane icon, usually in the lower left hand corner of your screen.

2   2.       Find the program in the list of programs that should be displayed.  FYI, click on any letter and the alphabet will appear.  Click on the respective letter for the program to jump to that section.

a.       Right-click on the program and choose Open file location.  If Open file location is not displayed, click on More (usually under Pin to Start) and choose it from the drop down menu.

3    3.    Right click on the program in the next window and choose Create Shortcut.  Look under the Type column to ensure you are right clicking on the program itself and not a shortcut.   If it is a shortcut, choose copy from the pop up menu and go to step 5.

4    4.      Right click on the shortcut on your desktop.

a.       Select Copy

5    5.     Click on the 4 Windows pane icon and type Run

a.       Click on the Run Desktop app

      6.   In the Open box, type  shell:startup

a.       Click on the OK box

7    7.       Right-click on a clear spot in the next screen

a.       Choose Paste   Note, DO NOT choose paste shortcut.

      8.    Close the window.  Closing the window can be accomplished by clicking on the x in the upper right hand corner OR Clicking on File and choosing Close from the drop down menu.


The program should now start up when you start your computer.
